Adventure Starts with Weather at CBS2

With all the heat we've had in the Treasure Valley, we headed to higher ground for this week’s Idaho Adventure.

Located in eastern Idaho within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest you'll find the majestic Mesa Falls.

Situated on Henry's Fork of the Snake River you'll find both the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls. They’re roughly a 20-minute drive northeast of Ashton, Idaho.

These are the last prominent waterfalls on the Snake River to resist human control. The Upper Mesa Falls is as tall as a 10-story building, 114 feet high. The lower falls is just a mile south and repeats the stunning site.

If you’re up for some hiking, the Mesa Nature Trail is about a mile long and will take you to an overlook of the lower falls.

There are walkways leading to the upper falls, and they’re easy to navigate but, be prepared for some stairs. The Mesa Falls Visitor Center is open daily from 9:30 – 5:30 during the summer months.
